Woke up this morning to find that mother nature is having some "issues" accepting that spring is here...  It was rather slippery taking Babygirl to school this morning.

My new washing machine is here!!  I'm super excited!!  Now I don't have to worry about the old one dying mid-load anymore!  The only problem is that the delivery people refused to move the old one...  (We have used this company in the past, and they have always helped move the old appliance out of the way...)  So my new washing machine got delivered to the living room...

Obviously it couldn't stay there.  It just doesn't go with the room.

Luckily, Hubby had planned to take a half day today to make sure the new washer got hooked up correctly (the delivery people do not hook it up), so he was able to move the old one out and move the new one into the correct spot.  Sadly, since he was flying out for a business trip this evening and we do not own a dolly, his solution for the old washing machine was to leave it in the living room.

Obviously that didn't work for me either.

Luckily my brother (for reasons I cannot comprehend) apparently owns a dolly.  I rushed over to Brother's house and rushed back with the dolly.  We made space in the garage for the old washer and squeezed it in there just in time to leave to take Hubby to the airport.  Tomorrow I will list it on the local garage sale FB page and push it to the curb with a "Free--works but needs new transmission" sign.

Baby girl was sick Friday, so we stayed home.  She was quite miserable, and her temperature went all the way up to 102 degrees.  Not fun for her (or me).  She started feeling better on Saturday, and by Sunday she was pretty much back to normal, thank goodness!

Managed to get out to my little brother's on Sunday to prepare for the honey bees we have coming in next month(ish).  We went through all of Dad's leftover equipment and found enough salvageable equipment for our current needs.  We painted up eight boxes, and they sure do look nice with their pale blue paint!

A busy day today.  I had to drop Babygirl at school, go buy paint, stop at my SIL's to drop stuff off and pick up girl scout cookies (major motivator!), stop at the local market to pick up a few ingridients I still needed for dinners this week, go buy Babygirl replacement buttons (buttons were ON SALE, so I may have ended up with *way* more than the four I went in there looking for...), buy Babygirl new underwear and do some shopping for the Easter bunny, pick Babygirl up from school, go over to my brother's house to drop off paint and other supplies and finish the load of laundry that was in the washer when it broke yesterday...  Then we got to go home for lunch!  No wonder I'm tired!

We are finally getting replacements for our honey bees that died out in the Polar Vortex two years ago!  It is the first time in my life I can recall my family not having honey bees, and I really miss the little buggers!  The bees will stay on my parent's property with my brother.  The hives need a little paint touch up, and we are hoping to get that done this weekend.  I think my brother might be a little unhappy with me when we open the paint...  I decided to have it tinted a light blue rather than going with the traditional white!  I have seen several pictures online of beekeepers with pastel painted hives though, and they look really cute...  Let's hope I don't regret choosing color!

Could not sleep last night, and then I had to get up an hour earlier than normal this morning...  I am not a fan of the time change right now!  At least we are finally getting some warmer weather!  I'm sure my southern friends think I am nuts, but today's temperatures in the mid 40s were a good reason to open up some windows for half an hour in my house!

Wacky Wednesday, March 4, 2015

At school this week, Babygirl is celebrating Dr. Suess's birthday.  Today was Wacky Wednesday, and they were supposed to wear wacky clothes.  Babygirl had *so* much fun picking out this outfit...

Is that wacky enough?  She also had a crazy hat and two different socks.  It was pretty cute, in a really crazy way...  She really loved the story too apparently, because she told me all about it for about an hour after I had picked her up!  

To remind myself that spring really is coming (eventually) I have some lovely daffodils* in my kitchen right now.  They are just opening today, and their beautiful yellow blooms really help to make the kitchen cheery.

*Disclaimer: These were bought at the grocery store.  The daffodils in my garden are currently covered by approximately two feet of snow...  I'm pretty sure they aren't blooming.

Ok, so I forgot to post my outfit yesterday, so I'm cheating on the title...  It is that time of year where I get the winter doldrums and have a tendency to procrastinate almost everything...

And the darn hives are still around (although much better) so I still can't handle being anywhere near most of my favorite sweaters, so this outfit is kind of boring...  And the weather still sucks (more snow today!) so sweaters are still a must...  I'm definitely going to have to get real creative, real soon, or I'm going to be repeating clothes!
