The stylings and thoughts of a stay at home mom keeping up with a small whirl wind. Some good, some bad.

I got to leave the house today!
That might not seem terribly exciting, but Babygirl has been sick, and I haven't been further than the mailbox for a week!
Did you get to see the lunar eclipse last night? In spite of having to get up early this morning to take Babygirl to school I watched for a bit. It was beautiful!

I forgot to take a picture of my outfit yesterday, and it was really cute too (you'll just have to believe me!) I was just too busy running around. So, instead of yesterday's cute outfit you get to see today's outfit, which is kind of schleppy and boring...
We also have heard from the insurance company and the car is a total loss. It is unfortunate that in our society things have become so disposable that a car that last week was a decent reliable car, in need of only an oil change, is this week a total loss due to damage that is largely cosmetic. I found this very depressing when I went to go collect the license plates today. I don't think that I would be at all upset about giving up the car if it were under better circumstances, and I knew that she was continuing to be useful.

Hubby had a little SNAFU on the way home from work last night. Thankfully he is ok other than being rather sore. Unfortunately, Gretchen (the car) is not ok.
Based on the opinion of Hubby and the tow truck driver, Gretchen is totaled; I'm waiting for the official word from the insurance company, but guessing that they are correct.
We were planning on purchasing a new vehicle, but were hoping to wait until spring. Since the plan was to unload Terra the truck (which is ageing and becoming rather unreliable) once it was fixed (which happened this weekend) and for Hubby to continue to drive Gretchen for the winter, we will likely be doing a rethink and purchasing sooner than anticipated.
I'm just grateful that Hubby is ok. Everything else can be dealt with, even if it causes us to change plans.
While I was on the phone with the insurance company last night, I signed up for yoga classes. Somehow, when I did this last night I did not comprehend that signing up for a Wednesday morning class on a Tuesday meant I would have class THE NEXT DAY... I was fully dressed this morning in my normal clothes this morning, checking my emails and waiting for Babygirl to finish her breakfast. The plan was to leave in about five minutes when I read the email from the teacher that said "Great! See you this morning!" Needless to say I changed into yoga (or as Babygirl calls it Oga) clothes and found my long neglected yoga supplies rather quickly!

| Wearing blue today in honor of Lt. Joe Gliniewicz who was killed in the line of duty in Fox Lake earlier this week. May he rest in peace, and I hope that his killers will be captured soon. |
